Programme Conservation and Revitalisation of Cultural and Natural Heritage, within the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009-2014
The Programme, operated by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, is being implemented mainly as a Predefined Project, the Centro Federico García Lorca in Granada.
The work and life of Federico García Lorca offer key historical and cultural points of reference. Lorca worked in a period of great political and social upheaval. His work empowered people to reflect upon core values: human dignity, solidarity, the freedom of the individual, tolerance, social progress, and the rule of law. Improved access to this archive provides opportunities to better understand Lorca’s legacy and how this is linked to the development of contemporary art and culture and current European values. The Centre plays a role in raising awareness about cultural diversity, and it is clearly relevant to achieve the overall objective of the programme: Cultural and natural heritage for future generations safe-guarded and conserved and made publicly accessible.
